Remember the heady, intoxicating days of Rutle mania?
Is it really so long ago?
Such amazing and progressive music as 'I Am The Waitress', 'All You Need Is Lunch', 'WC Fields Forever' and last but by no means least 'Tragical History Tour'.
Music which changed a generation for ever. Sadly, it was that of our parents.
Brief, bright stars that soared skyward, illuminated our lives and helped us cope with daylight saving. Ron Nasty, Dirk McQuickly, Stig O'Hara and Barrington Womble - I salute you.
You gave me a hairstyle and facial hair that has kept me at the cutting edge of fashion these last 40 years.
I DO remember the Rutles. As a devoted fan of the Beatles, one had to pay attention. I think they were great fun. Great video!
ReplyDeleteOh yes... I do remember. I even had their official book. I think it was called The Rutland Dirty Weekend Book... sort of like Radio Times gone wrong, or right, not sure which.
